Job Overview

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government, is hiring an Assistant Director: Cultural Support (Level 09) with a salary range of R487 197 to R573 897 per annum. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree)
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices bearing on line functions
• Knowledge of information systems aiding knowledge and information management
• Knowledge of project management and operational management practices
• Knowledge of procurement and tendering processes
• Knowledge of policy development, operational management, monitoring and review processes
• Knowledge of modern systems of governance and administration
• Understanding of public service procedures, processes and systems
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National and Provincial Treasury Regulations
• Understanding of Labour Relations legislation and regulations
• Computer Literacy, Numeracy, Literacy, Language skills, Accounting, Finance, and Audit skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support services for cultural facilities to ensure a safe and enabling environment for cultural programmes and initiatives
• Provide administrative support services to the component
• Provide secretariat services to the Western Cape Cultural Commission
• Execute operational management duties
• Execute people management duties
• Execute financial management duties
