Job Overview

The Western Cape Government Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is seeking an Assistant Director: Cultural Support (Level 09). Responsibilities include providing support services for cultural facilities, administrative support, secretariat services to the Western Cape Cultural Commission, operational, people, and financial management. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree)
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices bearing on line functions
• Knowledge of information systems for knowledge and information management
• Project management and operational management practices
• Procurement and tendering processes
• Policy development, operational management, monitoring and review processes
• Knowledge and understanding of public service procedures, processes and systems
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National and Provincial Treasury Regulations
• Knowledge of Labour Relations legislation and regulations
• Computer literacy, numeracy, literacy, language skills, accounting, finance, and audit skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support services for cultural facilities to ensure a safe and enabling environment for cultural programmes and initiatives
• Provide administrative support services to the component
• Provide secretariat services to the Western Cape Cultural Commission
• Perform operational management duties
• Perform people management duties
• Perform financial management duties
