ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING AND SUPPORT FOR NPO

Job Overview

An Assistant Director position for Community Development: Institutional Capacity Building and Support for NPO is available in the Zululand District. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Development Studies, or Social Science, along with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience. Responsibilities include coordinating integrated development interventions, managing institutional capacity building services, keeping up to date with field developments, and ensuring research is undertaken. Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Community Development, Development Studies, or Social Science.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Community Development after obtaining the required qualification.
• Knowledge of the Constitution for the Republic of South Africa, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Acts, Research Methodology, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, National Development Plan, and Provincial Growth and Development Plan.
• Knowledge of legislation for local government and Integrated Development Planning.
• Knowledge and understanding of individual and group behavior, inter-relations within community structures, dynamics of the community, and current legislation to enable interventions.
• Ability and competence to manage community development structures and projects.
• The ability to influence individuals and groups to participate in their own self-empowerment ventures.
• Knowledge of the Employee Performance Management and Development System.
• Skills in problem-solving, computer literacy, communication, complex research, financial management, presentation, project management, policy formulation and implementation, driving, and numeracy.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the identification, facilitation, and implementation of integrated development interventions in partnership with other relevant stakeholders through the efficient, effective, and economical utilization of resources by the service delivery areas.
• Coordinate and manage an Institutional Capacity Building services delivery area to ensure that an efficient and effective community development service is delivered through the proper utilization of human, financial, and physical resources.
• Keep up to date with new developments in the Institutional Capacity Building and management fields to enhance service delivery.
• Plan and ensure that research on Institutional Capacity Building is undertaken.
