ACCOUNTING CLERK: ASSURANCE SERVICES

Job Overview

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government, is hiring an Accounting Clerk for Assurance Services on a salary level 05 (R237 453 - R279 708 per annum). Responsibilities include rendering clerical support for assurance services, internal control administration, financial accounting, salary administration, bookkeeping, and budget support. Requirements include a Grade 12 certificate, knowledge of public service financial legislation (PFMA, DORA, etc.), and proficiency in systems like PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
• Basic knowledge of financial functions, practices, data capture, computer operation, and financial statistics collation
• Insight into Public Service financial legislations, procedures, and Treasury regulations including PFMA, DORA, PSA, PSR, and PPPFA
• Familiarity with financial operating systems such as PERSAL, BAS, and LOGIS
• Numeracy, literacy, and language skills
• Computer skills and ability to operate office equipment
• Planning, organization, and good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform routine tasks

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Render clerical support services with regard to assurance services, and governance, fraud and losses management services
• Perform general administrative tasks within the Internal Control unit
• Perform Financial Accounting and Salary Administration support services
• Perform bookkeeping and budget support services
