STATION MANAGER GRADE 3 TO 6 (RESCUE) Chief Directorate: Emergency and Clinical Services Support

Job Overview

A Station Manager (Rescue) position is available within the Chief Directorate: Emergency and Clinical Services Support in the Overberg District, spanning Grades 3 to 6 with a salary range of R413,199 to R649,260 per annum. Requirements include appropriate HPCSA registration (AEA, ECT, Paramedic, or ECP), a minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience, valid code 10/C1 driver's licenses with PrDP, 12 Rescue Technician Modules, and rescue protocol knowledge. Responsibilities involve managing pre-hospital emergency medical rescue services, vehicle and equipment maintenance, SCM and HR compliance, staff supervision, and supporting the District Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 3: Successful completion of the Immediate Life Support (ILS) allowing registration with the HPCSA as Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA).
• Grade 4: Successful completion of the Emergency Care Technician Course (ECT) allowing registration with the HPCSA as Emergency Care Technician (ECT).
• Grade 5: Successful completion of the Critical Care Assistant course (CCA) or National Diploma allowing registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic.
• Grade 6: Successful completion of the B-Tech Degree allowing registration with the HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an AEA, ECT, Paramedic, or ECP depending on the grade.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience after registration with the HPCSA in the respective professional category.
• Valid Code 10 Professional driver's permit.
• Valid code C1 driver's license.
• Physical and mental fitness as an Emergency Services practitioner.
• 12 Rescue Technician Modules.
• Excellent knowledge of all 12 rescue modules and levels of emergency care rescue protocols.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy in the MS Office package.
• Report writing skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage pre-hospital Emergency Medical Rescue Services within the geographic area and respond to incidents when required.
• Ensure that the maintenance of Emergency rescue vehicles and rescue equipment are managed effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain responsibility for audit compliance regarding Supply Chain Management and Human Resource matters, inclusive of budget allocation and facilitation of account payments.
• Effectively manage and supervise staff in relation to Human Resource and Labour Relations functions.
• Ensure effective communication with regards to meetings, workshops, debriefs, compiling stats, and report writing.
• Provide effective support to the District Manager and act in a management capacity when required.
