Job Overview

Valkenberg Hospital under Metro Health Services is hiring Staff Nurse Grade 1 to 3 positions for the Female Pre Discharge Ward 3. Responsibilities include providing basic clinical nursing care, developing patient care plans, and utilizing resources effectively. Requirements include SANC registration as a Staff Nurse and varying experience levels from none for Grade 1 up to 20 years for Grade 3. Candidates must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and rotate wards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
• Registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse (or proof of application and payment for registration).
• Grade 1: None experience required.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.
• Willingness to work overtime, nightshift, weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to rotate within the hospital in different wards.
• Knowledge and experience of Community Mental Health at Primary Health care level.
• Basic Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Ability to function independently, as well as in a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills.
