SERVICE OFFICE MANAGER (X4 POSTS)

Job Overview

The Department of Social Development is seeking four Service Office Managers across uGu, Zululand, Harry Gwala, and uThukela districts in KwaZulu-Natal. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (NQF Level 7), be registered with SACSSP, possess a valid driver's licence, and have at least 3 years of junior managerial experience in a social services environment. Responsibilities include managing social welfare and community development services, corporate support, resource management, and policy implementation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Social Work
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker
• A valid driver’s license
• A minimum of 3 years junior managerial experience in a social services environment
• Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, Social Welfare and Community Development Legislation, Policies, Norms and Standards
• Knowledge of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Treasury Regulations
• Knowledge of HR Management, Labour Relations Act, and EPMDS
• Understanding of SASSA functions and social dynamics of KwaZulu-Natal communities
• Strong communication, leadership, financial management, project management, and interpersonal skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide Social Welfare Services
• Provide Community Development Services
• Ensure the provision of corporate support services
• Ensure the implementation of Departmental policies and other relevant legislation in the day-to-day running of the component
• Manage resources of the Service Office
