SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: FINANCE & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Overberg District

Job Overview

Caledon Hospital in the Overberg District is seeking a Senior Administrative Officer for Finance & Supply Chain Management. The successful candidate will hold a 3-year National Diploma or Degree, possess relevant financial and supervisory experience, and be proficient in systems like BAS, LOGIS, and EPS. Responsibilities include managing finance and SCM functions, inventory and asset management, budget control, and supervising patient administration and hospital fees departments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate 3-year National Diploma or Degree.
• Appropriate experience in Finance, Revenue, Patient Administration and Supply Chain Management.
• Appropriate experience in budget and expenditure control and the management of Asset and Liability Accounts.
• Appropriate Supervisory experience.
• Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
• Willingness to rotate within the Finance and Supply Chain Sections when required.
• Willingness to work afterhours when required.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in BAS, Logis and EPS.
• Good organisational, managerial, leadership skills and an aptitude for working with financial figures.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant financial prescripts, departmental policies, delegations and procedures.
• Strong people management skills, ability to work in a team context and motivate team members.
• Computer literacy and thorough knowledge of computer systems (LOGIS, BAS, EPS, Clinicom & Account Receivable).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
• Knowledge of the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA), National and Provincial Treasury Regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall management for all Finance and Supply Chain Management functions and ensure the effective and efficient application of procurement policies and processes.
• Responsible for Inventory control, Warehouse Management and Asset Management processes.
• Accurate and timeous preparation of reports and assist with the compilation of the Annual and Interim Financial statements.
• Clearing Asset and Liabilities accounts.
• Supervise Patient Administration, Medical Records, and Hospital Fees Departments.
• Ensure sound labour practices are executed and implemented.
