REGIONAL COORDINATOR

Job Overview

A 12-month contract Regional Coordinator position is available in Pretoria with a salary of R487 197 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits. The role requires a National Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, or Environmental Management, alongside at least two years of relevant experience. Key duties include overseeing waste tyre collection and transportation, monitoring depot operations, ensuring environmental compliance, facilitating payments, and processing secondary industry applications.

Requirements & Qualifications

• National Diploma (NQF 6) or higher in Transport Management, Logistics, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or relevant equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Environmental Management or relevant field
• Knowledge and Understanding of Project management, General Administration, Financial Administration, Departmental procedures and prescript/policies
• Knowledge of environmental management
• Knowledge and exposure in depot operations
• Ability to develop, interpret and apply policies, strategies and legislation
• Knowledge of waste management processes and procedures
• Knowledge in logistics
• Sound organising and planning skills
• Good communications and coordination skills
• Computer literacy
• Report Writing skills
• Ability to work under pressure and independently
• Good interpersonal relations
• A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure the improvement of Waste Tyre collection and transportation services
• Compile monitoring reports on collection services and monitor allocated collection points quarterly
• Update collection schedules and maintain files and records of monitored participants
• Receive and attend to queries and complaints, and ensure participant compliance with relevant legislation
• Conduct site visits at collection points, depots, and processors, and undertake compliance promotions
• Verify signed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and consolidate monthly reports from depot operators
• Plan and arrange compliance sessions with transporters
• Facilitate payments of transporters and depot operators by verifying and capturing collection notes and monthly reports
• Receive, verify, and submit invoices with supporting documents and load them on the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
• Contribute toward increasing the processing of collected waste tyres
• Receive, verify, and process secondary industry applications within two weeks
• Conduct pre-approval inspections, compile inspection reports within two days of site assessments, and provide feedback to applicants
• Receive and process secondary industry monthly processing tonnage reports and load them on EDMS
