Job Overview

Seshego Treatment Centre is hiring a Psychologist Grade 1 with a salary of R907 617 per annum. Requirements include an NQF 7 qualification in Social Science, current HPCSA registration as a Psychologist, and a valid driver's licence. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate
• Appropriate qualification at NQF 7 in Social Science allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist
• Current registration with HPCSA as a Psychologist
• Valid motor vehicle driver's licence (with the exception of persons with disabilities)
• Core and Process Competencies: Strategic Capability and Leadership, Programme and Project Management, Change Management, Financial Management, People Management and Empowerment, Knowledge Management, Problem Solving and analysis, Client orientation and customer focus
• Psychotherapeutic and clinical knowledge in patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment across the lifespan
• Knowledge of ethical and legislative framework of practice, Departmental guidelines and policies
• Evidence-based psychological practice and understanding of broader community, cultural, contextual and social-economic factors impacting mental health
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good organizing, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Sensitivity to gender, racial, ethnic, sexuality, and disability issues

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform medical case assessment
• Coordinate and facilitate the referral process for obtaining medical opinions
• Assist in monitoring and supporting the adjudication process
• Prepare reports
• Liaise with medical and health professionals
• Participate in after-hours clinical call roster
• Manage the child and youth care information management system
