Job Overview

Worcester Regional Hospital is hiring two Professional Nurses (Grade 1 to 3) specializing in General Surgery and Post Natal care within the Chief Directorate: Rural Health Services. Candidates must possess a Basic R425 nursing diploma/degree or a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing and be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Experience ranges from none for Grade 1 up to 20 years for Grade 3. Responsibilities include supervising nursing care, implementing quality standards, managing resources, and working shifts.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse, OR a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Experience: Grade 1 requires no experience; Grade 2 requires a minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse; Grade 3 requires a minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience.
• Ability to work shifts during the day and night, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
• Willingness to rotate within different Functional Business Units.
• Ability to function independently in a multi-disciplinary team and direct the team to ensure quality nursing care.
• Good problem solving, motivational, and leadership skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan (clinical practice/quality patient care).
• Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality nursing.
• Practice nursing and health care in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders.
• Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure accurate collection and recording of data.
• Render support to the supervisor and colleagues.
