Job Overview

Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services seeks two Professional Nurses (Grade 1 to 2) for Specialty Nursing (MOU Nursing) at Delft CHC and Kraaifontein CHC. Candidates must possess a basic nursing qualification, registration with SANC, a post-basic qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery, and relevant nursing experience (4 to 14 years). Responsibilities include comprehensive holistic nursing care for pregnant clients, human and financial resource management, and quality assurance promotion.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with SANC in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science OR A 4-year bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC.
• A Postgraduate Diploma accredited with the SANC in Midwifery.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Grade 1 Experience: Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
• Grade 2 Experience: Minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse in General Nursing, with at least 10 years after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or postgraduate diploma in the relevant specialty.
• Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
• Valid (Code B/EB) driver's license.
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to direct the team to ensure quality holistic health care and function independently in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to lead a team in obstetric emergencies.
• In-depth knowledge of nursing and public service legislation.
• Knowledge of Human Resource, financial and supply chain policies, and guidelines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision and implementation of comprehensive holistic nursing care and treatment to all pregnant clients.
• Assist with management of people management services within the Department.
• Effective utilization of financial resources within the department.
• Ensure the promotion of Quality assurance, Infection Control and Prevention & Occupational Health & Safety within the department.
• Deliver a support service to the Operational Manager and ensure effective coordination of the nursing division after hours.
