Job Overview

ID Hospital (Malmesbury) West Coast TB Centre in the Western Cape is seeking Professional Nurses (General: Chronic Ward) for Grades 1, 2, and 3. Requirements include a nursing diploma or degree, valid SANC registration, and relevant experience ranging from none for Grade 1 up to 20 years for Grade 3. Responsibilities include providing holistic patient-centered care, resource utilization, and supporting nursing services. Shift work and rotation are required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683) allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• OR a 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• OR a 3 year Diploma in Nursing (R171) allowing registration with SANC as a General Nurse.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse.
• Grade 1: None.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with SANC as Professional Nurse.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as Professional Nurse.
• Ability to work shifts during day and night, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
• Willingness to rotate within different units.
• Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Good communication, interpersonal relationships, exceptional leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape.
