OPERATIONAL MANAGER NURSING PHC GRADE1

Job Overview

An exciting vacancy exists for an Operational Manager Nursing PHC Grade 1 at Nogajuka Clinic within Kwa-Magwaza District Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive Primary Health Care services, managing facility plans, implementing quality improvement programs, and resource management. Requirements include a Grade 12 certificate, a basic R425 nursing qualification, a post-basic PHC qualification, current SANC registration, and at least 9 years of nursing experience with 5 years in PHC. Applications must be submitted via Z83 form.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
• Basic R425 qualification (Diploma / Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery)
• One (1) year post-basic nursing qualification in Clinic Nursing Science Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (PHC)
• Current registration with SANC as General Nurse, Midwife/Accoucheur and Primary Health Care
• Minimum of nine (9) years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing
• At least five (5) years appropriate/recognizable PHC experience after obtaining the one (1) year post-basic qualification in PHC
• In-depth knowledge of nursing legislation, related legal and ethical nursing practices, public service policies, and health-related prescripts
• Knowledge of quality norms and standards as directed by Negotiated Service Delivery Agreement, OHSC, ICRM prescripts, Patient Rights Charter, and Batho Pele Principles
• Leadership, organizing, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Computer literacy
• Time and conflict management skills
• Report writing and communication skills
• Human Resource and Financial Management skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision of a comprehensive package of services at Primary Health Care level
• Develop, implement, and monitor facility plans and submit progress reports
• Implement quality improvement programs working towards Universal Health Coverage as stipulated in the National Health Act
• Effective utilization and monitoring of resources in line with cost containment plans
• Effectively implement PHC Re-engineering strategy
• Implement Employment Performance Management and Development System (EPMDS)
• Manage and utilize data to improve service delivery and health outcomes
• Implement and monitor Department projects, including special projects in line with the health calendar
• Conduct clinical audits of priority programs with the aim of improving health care services
