Job Overview

KwaMhlanga Hospital in the Nkangala District is hiring a Medical Officer Grade 2. Applicants must hold an MBChB degree and registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice, along with at least 5 years of post-registration experience. Responsibilities include patient management, participating in clinical audits, supporting hospital management, and guiding junior staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

• MBChB degree allowing registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
• Valid work permit required for non-South African citizens.
• Sound knowledge of medical ethics.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
• Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience after registration with a recognised foreign health profession council and / or the HPCSA for foreign qualified employees.
• Experience in multidisciplinary management, teamwork, and respective medical disciplines.
• Knowledge of current Health and Public Service regulations and policies.
• Skills in consultations, history taking, examination, clinical assessment, and clinical management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute duties and functions with proficiency to support the aims and objectives of the institution consistent with standards of patient care.
• Accept responsibility for the management of patients admitted in a level 2/3 package of service facility.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of guidelines and protocols.
• Participate in academic and training programmes.
• Assist with clinical audits and actively participate in continuous professional development.
• Provide support to hospital management to ensure an efficient standard of patient care and services is maintained.
