Job Overview

George Regional Hospital is hiring a Liaison Officer (Quality Assurance) within the Chief Directorate: Rural Health Services at a salary of R338 106 per annum. The role requires a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Public Relations Management, Public Administration, or Communications, alongside relevant healthcare communication and quality improvement experience. Responsibilities include managing client quality complaints, compliments, and suggestions, coordinating real-time patient engagement, patient experience surveys, front-line support, and supervising reporting staff. A valid driver's license and MS Office proficiency are mandatory.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: An appropriate national diploma (NQF 6) or equivalent in Public Relations Management, Public Administration, or Communications.
• Appropriate experience in interpersonal communication in a health- or social service setting.
• Experience in development, coordination, and implementation of quality improvement plans, initiatives, or activities.
• Appropriate practical application of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
• Willingness to conduct outreach and engagement with communities, patients, families, and ecosystem health partners.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours when operationally required.
• Ability to independently plan, organise, and coordinate consumer quality and patient experience services.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement plans.
• Excellent administrative, organisational, and report-writing skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain Client Quality: Complaints, Compliments, and Suggestions function of the facility.
• Coordinate and maintain a Real-Time Patient Engagement process and the prevention and mitigation of risks.
• Coordinate Patient Experience and Related Surveys and feedback processes.
• Support Information coordination functions.
• Perform Front Line Duties and Relief Support.
• Provide effective line management, supervision, and people management of staff reporting to the Liaison Officer.
