Job Overview

Two Household Aid posts available at West Coast TB Centre (Sonstraal Hospital) within the Cape Winelands Health District. The role requires basic literacy and numeracy, experience in cleaning, linen management, and food handling, and the ability to work shifts including weekends and nights. Responsibilities include ward hygiene, serving meals, waste removal, and supporting supervisors. Salary is R144 024 per annum.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Appropriate / recognisable experience in cleaning, linen management and handling of food.
• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies.
• Willingness to render a shift service on weekends, public holidays, day and night and duties and rotate in different departments according to operational needs and requirements.
• Ability to mix cleaning fluids, count and calculate linen supply.
• Ability to read diet lists.
• Good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Renders effective, efficient and safe hygiene in wards.
• Serving of meals and refreshment.
• Handling and removal of waste.
• Provide support to Supervisor.
• Ensure effective utilization of resources.
