GROUNDSMAN (GROUNDS AND GARDENING)

Job Overview

Tygerberg Hospital in Parow Valley is seeking a Groundsman (Grounds and Gardening) for a salary of R144 024 per annum. Responsibilities include facility garden and terrain development, maintenance, machinery upkeep, ground preparation, and horticultural tasks. Requirements include basic literacy and numeracy, gardening experience, machinery operation skills, a valid code B/EB driver's licence, and tractor-driving ability.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Appropriate experience working in a grounds and gardening environment.
• Be able to operate garden machinery (lawn mowers and brush cutters).
• Valid code (B/EB) driving license as well as the ability to operate and drive a tractor.
• Gardening skills including landscaping and irrigation systems.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of facility garden and terrain as well as bondage of machinery.
• The preparation of ground covers for planting trees and bushes.
• The maintenance of flower and other beddings.
• Ensure that grounds and gardens are maintained (horticultural aspects).
• Support to supervisor.
