Job Overview

Tygerberg Hospital in Parow Valley is hiring two General Workers for their stores department. The role involves picking and delivering stock to hospital wards, clinics, and theatres, maintaining audit trails, and assisting with warehouse storage and stock-taking. Candidates must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills, experience in warehouse management, and the physical capability to move heavy boxes and operate pallet jacks. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a practical assessment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic numeracy skills
• Basic literacy skills
• Appropriate knowledge and experience in a Warehouse Management environment
• Physical ability to pick up and move heavy boxes or bags
• Physical ability to pull heavy pallets containing stock using a pallet jack
• Willingness to assist with stock-taking
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Pick and deliver issued stock timeously to wards, clinics, theatres and departments
• Ensure stock delivery is performed in a cost-effective and safe manner
• Maintain the audit trail of deliveries
• Assist with the receiving, issuing and storage of stock
• Clean stores on a regular basis
• Assist with stock taking
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required
