Job Overview

Radie Kotze Hospital in the Bergriver Sub-district (West Coast District) is hiring a Food Services Aid. The role involves rendering food services, maintaining apparatus and equipment, applying quality and risk management, and supporting HR functions. Requirements include basic numeracy and literacy, appropriate hospital kitchen experience, knowledge of HACCP, normal and therapeutic diets, and the physical ability to lift heavy objects and work shifts.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Appropriate experience in a large-scale kitchen in a hospital environment.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Must be healthy and strong enough to lift heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day.
• Dress according to departmental specifications and adhere to Hospital Policy.
• Knowledge of production for normal and therapeutic diets in an industrial food service unit.
• Knowledge of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP and safety principles.
• Ability to safely and correctly handle industrial equipment.
• Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to Interpret recipes, use a scale, do basic sums and production planning.
