Job Overview

The Directorate: Animal Health is seeking a Driver/Messenger based in Pretoria. Responsibilities include driving light and medium vehicles, transporting passengers and documents, performing vehicle maintenance and inspections, and assisting with registry functions. Requirements include a Grade 10 or ABET qualification, a valid Code 8 Driver's licence, at least seven months of relevant experience, and basic literacy and communication skills. Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive light and medium vehicles to transport passengers and deliver other items such as mails, documents, and office equipment
• Collect, distribute and control movement of documents
• Do routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle and report defects timely
• Perform daily trip and post trip vehicle inspection to ensure that the vehicle is in the best condition at all times
• Complete all required and prescribed records and logbooks with regard to the vehicle and goods handled
• Maintain accurate and up to date schedule trip sheets, logging official trips and daily mileage
• Collect and deliver documentation and related items in the departmental/branch or external parties
• Ensure proper and secure control over movement of documents
• Assist in Registry functions including filing incoming correspondence, tracing files, copying, and faxing documents
