DEPUTY DIRECTOR: SECURITY MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

A vacancy exists for a Deputy Director: Security Management at Head Office in Polokwane, offering an annual salary of R932 292. Candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate, an NQF level 6 qualification in Security Management, Security Risk Management, or Policing, PSIRA Grade A/B, and 5 years of experience in security management with 3 years at junior management level. Responsibilities include managing operational risk, security awareness programmes, physical and information security audits, security policies like MISS and MPSS, and overseeing human and financial resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric
• Qualification at NQF level 6 in Security Management / Security Risk Management / Policing as recognised by SAQA
• Security Grade A/B (PSIRA)
• 05 years’ experience in Security Management environment of which three (03) years MUST be at Junior Management / Assistant Director level
• State Security Agency (SSA) will be an added advantage
• Valid firearm competencies
• Valid driver’s license, with the exception of applicants with disabilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the provision of operational risk and security awareness programmes
• Develop operational risk and security awareness programmes and implement security awareness plans
• Monitor the provision of workshops on security awareness and evaluate the security status within the department
• Liaise with other departments on security issues and propose control measures to minimise or eliminate security risks
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of Security Policies and Procedures as well as Security Measures e.g. MISS, MPSS
• Develop security procedures, policy for security measures, contingency plans, and security plans
• Advice and attend to security breaches
• Manage the provision of security administrative services including tender bulletins and outsourced security contracts
• Monitor performance of private security services as per service level agreement and monitor in-house security guards
• Provide specifications for purchasing of security equipments (Guard Monitoring systems, EACS etc.) and investigate security related cases
• Manage physical security appraisals and information security audits including verifying company documents at PSIRA and vetting service providers at SSA
• Manage key control
• Provide resources (Human, Financial and Equipment) including managing component's budget and monitoring expenditure
• Evaluate and monitor performance, appraisal, capacity and development of staff
• Manage discipline, provide job descriptions to subordinates, and manage division leave matters
