DEPUTY DIRECTOR: RISK MANAGEMENT–BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

The Office of the Premier requires a Deputy Director: Risk Management – Business Continuity Management based in Mbombela with a salary of R932,292 per annum (Level 11). Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in risk management or related field, professional certifications in business continuity, and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include developing business continuity programs, managing strategies, conducting risk assessments, and liaising with ICT for disaster recovery integration.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in risk management or a related field
• Professional certifications in business continuity management
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business continuity management
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
• Strong knowledge of business continuity management principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Knowledge of BCM standards and frameworks such as ISO 22301 or NIST SP 800-34
• Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Familiarity with business continuity management software, tools, and technologies
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business continuity program
• Manage entity-wide business continuity strategies and response arrangements
• Provide technical advice to management to carry out business impact analysis and prepare business continuity plans
• Manage the design, build, test, and monitor the implementation of capacity BC planning
• Liaise with ICT to ensure integration of business continuity plans to disaster recovery
• Develop central source of information and conduct awareness workshops
