DEPUTY DIRECTOR: CRIME PREVENTION PARTNERSHIPS

Job Overview

The Department is looking for a Deputy Director: Crime Prevention Partnerships based in Bojanala at a total package salary of Level 12 (R1 101 468 per annum). Requirements include a relevant NQF level 6/7 qualification in Social Sciences, LLB, Development Studies, Policing or Community Development, 5 years of safety and security experience with 3 to 5 years at junior management level, and a valid driver's licence. Key duties involve developing outreach programmes, coordinating provincial crime prevention strategies, promoting public-private partnerships, and managing sub-directorate resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Three (3) year National Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6/7) in Social Sciences, LLB, Development Studies, Policing, and Community Development
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience within a safety and security environment
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience at a junior management (Assistant Director) level
• Valid Code EB (08) Driver's License
• Knowledge and understanding of the Integrated Crime and Violence Prevention Strategy, White Paper on Safety and Security, SAPS Act, Civilian Secretariat Act, Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Service Code of Conduct, Public Financial Management Act (PFMA), and Intergovernmental Relations Framework Act
• Skills in community mobilisation, stakeholder management, coordination and facilitation, negotiation, resource mobilisation, and advanced report writing
• Programme and project management skills
• Basic research and data analysis skills
• Computer literacy including Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and review community outreach programmes
• Enhance the quality and accessibility of safety programmes
• Encourage dialogues on safety and crime prevention
• Initiate and coordinate crime prevention programmes
• Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of Provincial Crime Prevention Strategies
• Promote community participation in crime prevention initiatives
• Coordinate the development and evaluation of safety models
• Promote community Police relations
• Establish, monitor, and enhance community safety structures
• Establish and promote public-private partnerships
• Manage key performance responsibilities of subordinates
• Monitor and report on sub-directorate resources, provide support on expenditure budget compilation, report costs on activities, and assist in developing the sub-directorate budget tool
