COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER: REGION B (MOSSEL BAY, D'ALMELDA)

Job Overview

The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government seeks a Community Development Worker for Region B in Mossel Bay, D'Almelda. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (NQF level 4)
• Knowledge of applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices in the public services
• Knowledge of composition of communities in the Western Cape and their functioning
• Facilitating skills to public participation in policy making and service delivery
• Skills in project organisation, interpersonal relations, report writing and reporting
• Proven computer literacy (MS Office)
• Self-management and adherence to timelines
• Written and verbal communication skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Inform and assist communities in the Western Cape with access to services provided by government structures
• Determine the needs of communities and communicate it to the relevant structures
• Promote networks and enhance the activities or existing local community workers aimed at improved service delivery
• Compile reports and documents on progress, issues attended to, actions taken and outcomes as required
• Keep up to date regarding all services rendered by government and the processes and mechanisms to access the services
