CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER GRADE 1 TO 2 (PRIMARY HEALTH CARE) West Coast Health District

Job Overview

A Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 to 2 (Primary Health Care) position is available at Piketberg CDC, Bergriver Sub-district within the West Coast Health District. Responsibilities include executing and managing Curative Programmes, Child Health, Woman's Health, and HAST programmes. Candidates must possess a basic nursing qualification, relevant post-basic qualifications, SANC registration, and appropriate experience ranging from 4 to 14 years depending on the grade. A valid driver's licence and computer literacy are required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48) OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent.
• A post graduate diploma accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• Grade 1 Experience: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
• Grade 2 Experience: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing, with at least 10 years after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification.
• Valid (Code B/EB/C) driver's licence and willingness to travel.
• Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of Community Oriented Primary care.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Effective execution and assistance with the management of relevant Curative Programmes within the scope of practice.
• Act as an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care.
• Effective execution and assistance with the management of relevant Child Health programmes within the scope of practice.
• Effective execution and assistance with the management of relevant Woman's Health programmes within the scope of practice.
• Effective execution and assistance with the management of relevant HAST programmes within the scope of practice.
