CLINICAL MANAGER

Job Overview

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Manager at Nkqubela TB Hospital in Buffalo City Metro, Eastern Cape. Requirements & Qualifications

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
• Registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
• A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as a medical officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation such as National Health Act, Mental Health Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Service Act and related regulations and policies.
• Competencies including Strategic capability and leadership, Program and Project Management, Financial Management, Change Management, People Management and Empowerment, Service Delivery Innovation, Knowledge Management, Problem Solving and Analysis, Communication, Client Orientation and Customer focus.
• A valid driver's licence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Management of clinical services in the entire hospital in accordance with departmental standards, including after hours as delegated.
• Participate and account for assisting in leading and managing hospital clinical services.
• Maintain accurate health records in accordance with legal and ethical considerations.
• Train and guide staff and health associated professionals in morbidity and mortality reviews.
• Attend and participate in continuous medical education and quality improvement programs.
• Ensure cost-effective service delivery is maintained within the respective department.
• Plan, direct, coordinate and manage efficient and effective delivery of clinical and administration support services.
• Present the Hospital authoritatively at provincial and public forums.
• Determine systems for intradepartmental functions in keeping with hospital policies and communicate to staff.
• Ensure compliance with National Core Standards requirements or other regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular clinical audits and develop, implement and monitor action plans.
• Develop, monitor and analyse budget and financial information, utilizing resources effectively and efficiently.
• Compile medical reports and give evidence at trials when required.
• Manage Performance and Development (PMDS) and perform quarterly reviews of subordinates.
• Train, develop and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate junior doctors.
