Job Overview

Murraysburg Hospital in the Central Karoo District is hiring a Cleaner to perform general cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance duties including waste and linen management. Candidates must possess basic literacy and numeracy, appropriate cleaning experience, and the physical ability to lift heavy objects and operate cleaning machinery. The position involves adhering to Department of Health and Wellness policies for maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Appropriate experience in the field of domestic and health cleaning services
• Physically able to lift and / or move heavy objects and supplies
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment
• Good interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the correct methods of handling and disposal of refuse/waste products and to adhere to policies and cleaning procedures
• Knowledge of legislation and policies of the Department of Health and Wellness relevant to cleaning practice

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• General cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance including dusting, sweeping, polishing, scrubbing, mopping, cleaning windows, walls, equipment, machinery and refuse removal
• Ensure effective Waste Management and Linen Management
• Effective and efficient utilization and storage of cleaning materials and equipment
• Provide optimal support to the supervisor and colleagues with general housekeeping duties and services
• Adhere to general hygienic and safe environment in terms of standards and procedures
