Job Overview

The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture is hiring a Cleaner (Reference: DSRAC 36/09/2026) at Bayworld Museum in Gqeberha. The position offers a salary of R144 024– R169 656 per annum (Level 02). Requirements include a Grade 8 certificate, ABET level 4, or NQF level 1-3. No prior experience is required, though one year of cleaning experience is an added advantage. Responsibilities involve general cleaning of offices, boardrooms, kitchens, and restrooms, as well as maintaining equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 8 certificate or ABET level 4 or NQF level 1 - 3 with no experience
• One (1) year experience as a cleaner will be an added advantage
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Exposure in the field will be an added advantage

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provisioning of cleaning services
• Cleaning offices, corridors, elevators, and boardrooms including dusting, waxing furniture, sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and shampooing floors
• Cleaning walls, windows, and doors, emptying and cleaning dirt bins, and collecting and removing waste papers
• Freshening office areas
• Cleaning general kitchens, washing and keeping stock of kitchen utensils
• Cleaning restrooms, refilling hand wash liquid soap, replacing toilet papers, hand towels, and refreshers, and emptying and washing waste bins
• Keeping and maintaining cleaning materials and equipment
• Reporting broken cleaning materials and equipment
• Cleaning machines and equipment after use
