Job Overview

The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development is hiring a Cadastral Officer in East London, Eastern Cape, at a salary of R280 278 per annum (Level 06). Applicants must hold a Grade 12 Certificate and a National Certificate in Geomatics or Survey Officer Certificate (NQF Level 5), along with computer literacy and an understanding of spatial data. Responsibilities include capturing and verifying cadastral and spatial data, maintaining survey databases, performing technical examinations of survey records and plans, and supplying cadastral information to clients. Requirements & Qualifications

• Completion of the training prescribed in order to fulfil the required qualification

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Capture alpha and numeric information from newly submitted Cadastral documents and undertake mathematical consistency checks and data verification for proposed new land parcels.
• Update Cadastral survey databases through the addition or amendment of every approved document to maintain an electronic alpha-numeric repository.
• Capture and verify Historical Cadastral documents.
• Perform Withdrawal or cancelation of cadastral documents, and deduct, cancel and endorse cadastral documents with registered land parcels, leases or servitudes.
• Amend approved and registered cadastral documents, insert newly approved documents into the archive, and extract, issue, refile, repair and maintain cadastral records.
• Update noting sheets through the addition of every approved cadastral land parcel.
• Perform technical examination of diagrams, general plans, survey records, and sectional title plans.
• Supply Survey data to Land Surveyors and disseminate cadastral information to the public in hard copy or digital formats.
• Supply aerial photographs, rectified imagery and maps from NGI according to signed service level agreements.
• Capture newly submitted documents to determine spatial overlaps prior to approval and add all newly created land parcels to spatial datasets.
• Scan newly approved and updated cadastral documents and link the deposited scanned images to the alpha numeric data.
