ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT SERVICES

Job Overview

An Assistant Director: Logistics and Transport Services position is available in Bloemfontein, Free State, offering an annual salary of R487 197 (Level 09). Candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate, an NQF Level 6 National Diploma in Logistics/Financial/Public Administration/Management, at least three years of supervisory experience in logistics and transport, and a valid driver's licence. Responsibilities include implementing logistics systems, managing inventory, fleet services, warehousing, and ensuring compliance with the PFMA and Treasury Regulations. Requirements & Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• National Diploma in Logistics Management / Financial Management / Public Administration / Public Management / Purchasing Management or related equivalent qualifications (NQF Level 6)
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in Logistics and Transport environment
• A valid driver's licence
• Knowledge of Public Service Policies and Regulations
• Knowledge of Treasury Regulations and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
• Knowledge of Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Logistical Information System (LOGIS)
• Ability to monitor budget
• Ability to liaise at different levels of management and perform supply chain management services
• Computer literacy and verbal and written communication skills
• Organising ability and ability to work in a team

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement logistics management systems, procedures and processes
• Manage user profiles and asset classifications
• Link supplier Item Control Number (ICN), unit price, etc.
• Coordinate year-end closure for audit purposes as required
• Provide management information, statistics and reports
• Monitor movement of requests and ensure the integrity of LOGIS
• Verify compliance before capturing on LOGIS and ensure processing of orders
• Manage inventory levels and initiate payments for goods, services and assets
• Ensure payments within 30 days and validate/reconcile payment for goods, services and assets
• Manage creditor's reconciliation, stores, and warehousing
• Ensure effective systems aimed at improving service turnaround times and optimum utilisation of stores and warehousing
• Manage fleet services, travel arrangements, OFTAR, and DOTR requests
• Reconcile payments against OFTAR and DOTR requests
• Administer Government Garage (GG) and subsidised vehicles, fleet, and travel management services
