ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: FINANCIAL PLANNING

Job Overview

An Assistant Director: Financial Planning position is available at Head Office (Ref No: DSD17/08/2026HO) with a salary of R487 197 per annum (Level 09). Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or Accounting, possess a valid driver’s license, and have 3-5 years of administrative experience in a financial management environment. Key responsibilities include coordinating financial strategic planning, compiling monthly management accounts, conducting medium- and long-term financial planning, and managing division resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or Accounting
• A valid driver’s license
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ administrative experience in Financial Management environment
• Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, Basic Accounting System, Financial handbook, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, Human Resources, Procurement Directives, and Employee Performance Management and Development System
• Skills in Communication, Report writing, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal relations, Problem solving, Financial Management, Time Management, and Driving

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of financial strategic planning
• Compile monthly management accounts
• Provide support in conducting medium- and long-term financial planning in line with mid-term expenditure framework (MTEF) processes
• Provide in year and annual reporting
• Provide financial and operational information
• Provide advice and guidance and input to policy
• Manage resources of the Division
