ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: FACILITIES & RECORD MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

Buffalo City TVET College is hiring an Assistant Director: Facilities & Record Management on a permanent basis in East London. The candidate will oversee building maintenance, ensure compliance with SHERQ and OHS regulations, manage fleet and physical security, handle records, and direct unit resources. Requirements include a relevant M+3 degree or National Diploma and five years of experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity within facilities management or related environments. Requirements & Qualifications

• Matric or NCV Level 4
• Recognized M+3 years Degree or National Diploma in Building Management, Safety Management, Construction Management, or relevant equivalent qualification
• 5 years of experience in a Facilities Management, SHERQ, and OHS Environment
• 3 years of supervisory experience in a Facilities Management, SHERQ, Construction Management, and OHS Environment
• Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (including Act 85 of 1993)
• Knowledge of Immovable Asset Management Act
• Knowledge of Telephone Management Systems, fire control systems, and facilities management systems

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of buildings and premises
• Ensure compliance to SHERQ and OHS Act
• Oversee fleet management
• Maintain physical security functions including key control, personnel, document, and surveillance security
• Manage records
• Manage all human, financial, and other resources of the unit
