ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: DEMAND MANAGEMENT

Job Overview

Head Office is seeking an Assistant Director: Demand Management (Ref No: 32/2026/2027) with a salary of R487 197 per annum. Requirements include a Matric and NQF Level 7 degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or Financial Management, alongside a minimum of 5 years of SCM experience with 3 years at a supervisory level. Key duties involve conducting needs assessments, managing the Central Supplier Database, developing procurement plans, managing team performance, and ensuring compliance with public service SCM legislative frameworks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12
• Appropriate bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Logistics Management, or Financial Management
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in Supply Chain Management
• Three years of Supply Chain Management experience on a supervisory level
• Valid Driver’s licence
• Knowledge of Walker financial management system or BAS
• Knowledge of legislative framework governing SCM and public service regulations
• Advanced computer literacy and leadership abilities
• Strong planning, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct total needs assessment within the Department
• Manage implementation of Central Supplier Data Base
• Conduct market, industry and commodity analysis and compile reports for approval
• Conduct training to all end users in relation to compilation of Demand and Procurement Plans
• Compile Demand Management and Procurement Plan for the Department
• Implement departmental Supply Chain Management policies and legislative frameworks
• Ensure the determination of specifications requirements are linked to the strategic plan and budget
• Perform membership position in Specification committee meetings
• Manage Key Performance Areas of team members and participate in unit budget projections
• Compile Bid files for all procurement plan projects and progress reports on monthly and quarterly basis
