ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Job Overview

The Western Cape Government is hiring two Administrative Officers for the Western Cape Mobility Department under reference WCMD 103/2025 R1. The role requires a 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and a valid code B driving licence. Responsibilities include providing high-level administrative support for Land Transport Services, financial support, research support, and supervisory functions. Requirements & Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• A valid code B (or higher) driving license (People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply)
• Knowledge of Transport related regulatory, policies and frameworks
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements
• Knowledge of Project management and Operational management practices
• Knowledge of Procurement and tendering processes
• Knowledge of Public service procedures, processes and systems
• Knowledge of Relevant software packages and sound application of relevant computer programmes
• Knowledge of General office administration and database management, General support systems, and Information and Record Management/Administration
• Skills: Numeracy, Literacy, Computer Literacy, Written and verbal communication, Project Management, Accounting, Finance and Audit, Economic, Financial and Statistical Analysis, Legal Administration, Basic Research, Analytical, Organising, Planning, Time Management, Problem-solving

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide high-level administrative support in the oversight and implementation of Land Transport Services
• Render high-level administrative support services
• Remain up to date with legislation, prescripts, policies, procedures and processes applicable to the work terrain
• Render financial support services
• Render research support services
• Perform supervisory functions
